Aura – Microsoft’s Next Step into Ubiquitous Computing

Microsoft is onto something cool with Aura:

they're bringing the outside world 'in' using your mobile device. Other companies have been hacking at leveraging mobile devices, the camera phone in particular, for bridging offline and online as well, like ScanR,who are starting to figure this out on the OCR side, but without the extra hardware MSFT is suggesting for barcode scanning with this Aura product. UC was all but dead for a while, but it is really making a comeback – this is one of only a few efforts I've seen MSFT, and others, making into this realm; Nokia is heading there with their LifeBlog, and Marc Canter has been talking about this, in terms of 'Digital Lifestyle Aggregation', longer than anyone else I can find.
